PhD (1990), Mechanical Engineering, University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ.

My driving interest has been to collaborate with scientists and clinicians in the application of physics and engineering to facilitate biomedical research and promote translational studies. Currently, I am interested in quantitative imaging research (Radiomics) in combination with artificial intelligence (Data Science) for applications in physically and biologically adaptive radiation therapy, in particular as facilitated by the novel technology integrating a magnetic resonance imaging scanner and a medical linear electron accelerator (i.e., an MR-Linac). In addition, I continue to perform research on mathematical modeling in cancer therapy, 3D dosimetry of targeted alpha particle radiopharmaceuticals, optimization of radiation treatment plans, molecular imaging applications in radiation oncology, advancing methods of quality assurance in radiotherapy, and stereotactic body radiation therapy physics.
